Sir Vernon Ellis joined the Board of Directors at FTI Consulting, Inc. in 2012 and serves as a member of the Audit Committee and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
Prior to retiring in 2010, Sir Vernon served as International Chairman at Accenture LLP. He spent his career at the firm in a number of major operational roles, including overseeing a period of strong growth. Through the 1990’s, Sir Vernon led Accenture’s operations in Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. He also developed Accenture’s relationship with the World Economic Forum, including Accenture’s activities at Davos. In his role as International Chairman, Sir Vernon led the global Corporate Citizenship activities of Accenture. Sir Vernon was also the founding Chairman of Accenture Development Partnership.
From 2010 to 2016, Sir Vernon served as Chair of the British Council, the UK’s International Cultural Relations organization. The British Council employs around 10,000 people and operates in 110 countries. As Chair, Sir Vernon led the Board and management through an extensive reframing of the organization’s strategy and structure.
Currently, Sir Vernon is Chairman of Martin Randall Travel Ltd., the leading cultural tours company in the United Kingdom. He has chaired several major arts organizations, including English National Opera and the Leeds International Piano Competition. Sir Vernon Ellis holds a philosophy, politics and economics degree from Oxford University.
