Raj Juneja is a Managing Director in the Business Transformation practice, specializing in revenue growth and operations. Mr. Juneja has more than 25 years of global experience in operations excellence, supply chain and technology initiatives with global industrial corporations and consulting firms. He has industry experience in automotive, industrials, food and chemicals.
Mr. Juneja has delivered projects in plant turnaround, lean, working capital optimization, distribution network optimization, footprint optimization, localization, strategic outsourcing, capital equipment procurement, operation due diligence, synergy assessment, merger integration and carve-out, inventory management, supplier qualifications and selections, supplier performance management, general and administrative cost reduction, and process re-engineering. He has also defined and created operational and supplier performance metrics and scorecards for aligned and improved decision making.
In regards to operations improvements, Mr. Juneja led lean transformation initiatives in Asia Pacific region for a leading premier industrial business, resulting in a cost-out of $40 million in three years. He also led a financial systems (Oracle ERP) deployment and process assessments globally for a client challenged with post-implementation issues. Additionally, Mr. Juneja led business system audits globally for several plants and divisions. He also conducted reviews of multiple distribution centers and guided a team to optimize inventory management, warehouse flows and space utilization, leading to reduction from seven warehouses to two and substantial logistics cost savings. Additionally, he led a sales offices optimization initiative in China for a high-volume low-mix electrical consumer product manufacturer, providing a detailed analysis and recommending hub and spoke strategy to reduce number of sales offices and headcount by more than 50%, which consequently reduced inventory by 45% and an overall value-creation of $5 million with improved on-time performance. He is currently involved in operations turnaround for an Aircraft engine MRO business, owned by the world’s largest private equity fund, and has identified and leading implementation to reduce engine turnaround time by 40%.
Mr. Juneja’s merger acquisition experience includes leading an acquisition integration and ERP deployment in Mexico for the truck clutch business of a Tier 1 global automotive supplier. He also led the post-merger integration synergy assessment in supply chain and operations for a private equity-held truck body and trailer manufacturer, where he identified $16 million opportunities in operations and supply chain. In regards to his distressed company experience, Mr. Juneja led a plant turnaround for an industrial manufacturer with breakeven sales reduction of 40%. He also spearheaded an ‘in trouble’ strategic initiative in Europe for a global Tier 1 automotive supplier, where he successfully led the program by restructuring and reenergizing team.
Mr. Juneja guided Chinese and European teams to localize several electro-mechanical products for a $15 billion global industrial manufacturer to optimize cost and lead time and eliminate large in-transit inventory. He also led reduction in inventory DOH from 85 days to 60 days by leading/supporting initiatives like localization, cycle counting, VMI, sales and operations planning, process streamlining and strategic outsourcing. In a carve-out of a global specialty chemical industry, Mr. Juneja assessed end to end order to cash process and reduced inventory by more than $150M.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Juneja worked in senior positions and diverse roles within global Fortune 500 industrial manufacturers, as well as a top consulting firm, including Cummins, Eaton Corporation and Ernst & Young. He has received several awards as a lead assessor of Malcolm Baldridge award criteria based Business System.
Mr. Juneja holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Gujarat University, M.S. in manufacturing engineering from the Technical University in Berlin and M.B.A. from the Indiana Wesleyan University. He is Certified in Financial Management, certified in ERP Systems from Oracle and certified in Lean (Train the Trainer), Project Management and Business System Assessment (Lead Auditor) from the Easton Quality Institute. He is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants.
