Neil Birchall

Neil Birchall is a Quantity Surveyor, with over 34 years’ experience in the construction and allied industries. Neil has worked extensively in the field of construction claims undertaking analysis, preparation and prosecution of claims and defending claims for extensions of time, additional payment, damages and reimbursement of loss and expense. Neil also has considerable experience in contract drafting, procurement and project delivery, and frequently acts as a Commercial Advisor to project proponents and contractors.

Neil has advised owners, contractors, subcontractors, professional services organisations and law firms on matters concerning real estate, infrastructure, energy and natural resources projects in Australia, New Zealand, APAC, UK, Europe, CIS and the Middle East. His services have been provided in both contentious and non-contentions situations.

Recognised as an Expert Witness, Neil has been appointed on numerous quantum and delay matters in mediation, adjudication, arbitration, and litigation. The matters that Neil has been instructed on include disputes heard in the Supreme Courts of Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia, the District Court of New South Wales, and in arbitration proceedings in Australia, England & Wales, and Scotland under various institutional rules including ACICA, Resolution Institute, LCIA and CIMAR.
