Mukesh Shah is a member of the Office of the CFO Solutions practice and leads financial technology efforts. Mr. Shah specializes in finance technology including digitizing business processes and leveraging data analytics to derive business insights. He has over 20 years of experience in finance technology strategy, enterprise architecture, advanced analytics, data integration, mobility solutions, process automation and cloud migration.
As a partner to CFOs, Mr. Shah helps to plan and execute on their finance technology agenda, leveraging technology to enable transactional process automation, deliver business insights, and build a finance function focused on collaborating with the organization to drive growth. Mr. Shah’s expertise includes integrating finance systems across the organization, providing a single source of truth, and empowering the finance team to adopt to current and future technology-led transformations. He is also focused on developing technology roadmap including technology rationalization and cost transparency. His clients have included public and private companies in several industries, including life sciences, retail, financial services, healthcare and manufacturing.
Engagement experience includes leading the finance technology assessment for a national home improvement manufacturer. Mr. Shah provided a roadmap for upgrading to a cloud-based G/L and planning solution with a rationalized Chart of Account (CoA) and enhanced financial planning and forecasting process. On another engagement, Mr. Shah provided solution architect advisory to a global technology company for starting an intelligent automation program involving design and development of Cognitive Bots for processing invoices in 8 languages and 12 currencies. He also advanced on standing-up cross functional global Automation COE.
Mr. Shah led finance technology assessment for a PE owned national automotive service retailer involving G/L, inventory and warehouse management solutions and provided technology roadmap for an integrated finance and inventory management solutions.
On another notable matter, Mr. Shah architected a working capital analytics solution for a national food services company that provided real-time insights on managing cashflow during a COVID-19 lockdown. The solution enabled CFO to source data form 14 different ERPs and provide single source of truth across payroll, inventory, AR and AP transactions. Mr. Shah developed an intelligent automation (RPA+) roadmap for a PE-owned BPO company and helped them to transition to a Business Process Automation (BPA) provider. The program created 5 Bots with $1 million of annual savings and a pipeline for 40 Bots with more than $7 million of annual savings. In addition, he established processes for bot governance, coding standards and maintaining the bot farm.
Prior to joining FTI, Mr. Shah was an integral member to start risk analytics and automation capabilities for Grant Thornton’s Internal Audit practice. He was part of their leadership team for Technology Strategy and Innovation and a founding member of their Data Analytics Center of Excellence. Mr. Shah led build out of a global professional services firm’s first shared services center in Bangalore, India and was responsible for the center’s operations as Chief Operating Officer. He managed a 40-person operations team for Finance including regulatory compliance, Human Resources including L&D, Information Technology including data security, facility and administration.
Mr. Shah completed the Advanced Analytics program from the Indian Institute Management, Bangalore (IIMB), Technology Business Management (TBM) certification from TBM Council, and Project Management certification from PMI. Mr. Shah is passionate about driving STEM programs in K-12 and sponsor of FTI’s Win Digital Initiative.
