Maggie Geng has over 13 years of PR experience covering various industries including energy, manufacturing, transportation, technology and healthcare.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Maggie worked at Ruder Finn as the Account Director of Corporate Practice, where she oversaw clients such as Volvo Group, Energy Foundation, ABB, Siemens, DHL, Sanofi and Novo Nordisk to enhance their brand reputation and relationships with key stakeholders. She also developed their unique narratives and positioning to stand out in the market. She also performed crisis communications and media training for senior executives.

With a strong media relations background, Maggie successfully helped global CEOs to garner positive exposure within top-tier governmental, business and trade media, such as CCTV-2, CGTN, Xinhua News, People’s Daily, Caixin, Caijin and CBN. She also managed to help Microsoft enter the internal reference of Ministry of Information and Technology, directly impacting government stakeholders.

Leveraging Maggie’s corporate background and media relations, she also counselled financial clients such as Visa and SWIFT, where she organised media briefings and press events during important occasions such as the MoU Signing Ceremony of Sino-US Year of Tourism in 2016.

Maggie also has experience in technology from her time at Text100 and Edelman. She served a wide portfolio of clients across the technology industry, including BlackBerry, Microsoft, Samsung, Gartner, Juniper Networks, Gemalto, Commvault and Akamai. Her advice in media strategy and storytelling angles often won frequent appraisals from clients for generating impressive coverage results. In addition, she has a rich base of analysts contacts from IDC, Gartner and Forrester to help clients build analyst relations.

Maggie has also covered government relations when she was with the Intellectual Property Division of Sony China. She organised and participated in various government seminars related to intellectual property protection across 20 cities in China.

Maggie graduated from Beijing International Studies University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in English. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and is conversational in Japanese.
