Dennis Lee has over 13 years’ professional experience, including over seven years working on Forensic Accounting matters. Dennis is experienced in matters relating to loss and damage, post-acquisition dispute, business valuations, insurance litigation, accounting treatments and irregularities, complex personal loss of income quantifications and investigations.
His experience consists of undertaking numerous independent, joint and consulting expert assignments for a wide variety of legal, government and private sector clients.
Dennis has assisted in preparing expert evidence reports for the Federal Court of Australia, Supreme Court of Victoria, Supreme Court of New South Wales, Magistrates Court of Victoria, County Court of Victoria and the Family Court of Australia. Further roles include assisting the Independent Accountant in post-acquisition dispute processes and preparing expert evidence for International Arbitration matters.
In the past few years, Dennis has delivered over twenty presentations to legal practitioners on accounting, finance and expert witness matters.
In addition, Dennis has significant data analytics experience, having assisted clients facing challenges with complex and large sets of data in commercial litigation, anti-bribery and corruption and fraud risk/investigation matters.
Over time, Dennis has developed industry expertise in the Telecommunications, Manufacturing, Retail and Food and Beverage industries. He has also been involved with some of the largest debtor/invoice finance matters in Australia. Having experienced this particular financing product from a commercial banking, insolvency and forensic perspective, his experience with these matters has proven highly valuable to clients in assessing recoveries, mitigating losses and turnaround.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Dennis was a Senior Manager with Grant Thornton. He focused on assisting clients in assessing loss and damage, preparing and reviewing other expert valuations and conducting investigations and discovery in shareholder oppression proceedings.
