Despite its tragic history, Cambodia’s development in the past two decades has been remarkable. While GDP has grown at an impressive rate of 7% per year on average from 2010-14, whether Cambodia is able to maintain this momentum and secure long-term economic and social development hinges largely on its successful integration into the AEC — a task which in itself requires deep reform efforts in education and infrastructure.
