Liam Healey is a Managing Director in the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment at FTI Consulting, and he is based in Sydney.

Liam has more than 13 years of experience in corporate finance and restructuring matters ranging from informal corporate advisory assignments, to formal insolvency appointments.

Liam regularly provides banking and corporate clients with a variety of advisory services, including pre-lending and independent business reviews, due diligence assignments and strategic advice. Liam also has extensive formal restructuring and insolvency experience particularly involving the trading and sale of distressed businesses and real property.

Liam has undertaken engagements across a range of industries and has specific expertise in mining and mining services, energy, real estate, hospitality and technology.

Significant Engagements:

  • Independent business review of a service provider to the mining and infrastructure sectors for a financier with a secured debt of AU$80 million.
  • Independent business review and subsequent trading receivership of WDS Limited, an ASX listed company providing diversified services to the mining, energy and infrastructure sectors. The receivership included the sale of significant assets and completion/settlement of key contracts, resulting in a full repayment of the lender’s secured debt of AU$55 million.
  • Providing a range of services to clients in respect of real property assets, including providing strategic advice and facilitating the sale of over AU$200 million of distressed property.
  • Trading receivership of Compass Hotels Group Limited, an ASX listed hospitality group with a portfolio of 12 hotels and 12 large-scale retail outlets in Perth WA, for a financier with a secured debt of AU$110 million. The venues were subsequently sold to the ALH Group.
  • Financial due diligence report in relation to the acquisition of a hospitality group for approximately AU$90 million.

Liam holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Liberal Studies) in Accounting and Marketing from the University of Sydney. He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association (“ARITA”).
