Amrit Singh Deo is a Managing Director in the Strategic Communications segment of FTI Consulting and he is based in Mumbai.
For more than 17 years, Mr. Singh Deo has counselled senior management teams on strategic communications issues. His matters have involved counsel on corporate reputation management, investor relations, financial communications and cross-border M&A transactions, international litigation and shareholder activism.
Since 2012, Mr. Singh Deo has developed the Strategic Communications business at FTI Consulting in India and built a portfolio of India-specific clients, such as MasterCard, Westpac, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Apax Partners, Scottish Development International (SDI), Walk Free Foundation, engineering firm Crompton Greaves, Woolworths, law firm Verus, Allen & Overy, industry association CoreNet Global and wealth manager TrustPlutus.
Mr. Singh Deo developed and launched the India Disclosure Index, proprietary FTI Consulting research, which tracks mandatory and voluntary disclosure practices amongst India’s leading publicly-listed companies.
Before FTI Consulting, Mr. Singh Deo started Burson-Marsteller’s Financial Communications advisory business in India where he provided strategic communications counsel to clients such as Vodafone India, TPG Capital, Kotak Bank, IL&FS Investment Managers (investor relations), Akzo Nobel India (investor relations counsel during shareholder proxy battle), International Paper (post-M&A integration communication) and Woolworths India (litigation communication). Prior to this, Mr. Singh Deo led the Marketing & Communications function for Ericsson in India and Sri Lanka.
Mr. Singh Deo graduated with honours in Economics from Delhi University and he holds an M.B.A. degree in Business Policy from ESADE Business School, Barcelona. While at ESADE, Mr. Singh Deo led an acquisition strategy project for global mining company Vale (CVRD) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
