Ranjit Murugason Joins FTI Consulting as Special Advisor within the Strategic Communications Segment in South East Asia
Ranjit Murugason has been appointed special advisor within the Strategic Communications segment of FTI Consulting in South East Asia. In his new role, Mr. Murugason will provide clients with senior level counsel and strategic advice with respect to FTI Consulting’s services offered in the Asia Pacific region.
Mr. Murugason has more than 22 years of experience in strategic advisory, corporate finance and investment banking advisory and capital markets in Europe, Asia, North America and the Middle East and North Africa regions. He is the Founder and Managing Director of Urban Strategic Pte. Ltd., a strategic advisory firm that was established in London in 2003 and is currently headquartered in Singapore.
Previously, Mr. Murugason served as Managing Director and Global Head of Industrials for the Investment Banking Division of ABN AMRO Bank NV. Before that, Mr. Murugason had an extensive career in the City of London as an investment banker at Nomura Securities and UBS Warburg. More recently, Mr. Murugason was Senior Advisor to GMR Group and Chief Executive Officer of the International Division of GMR Group, one of India’s largest multinational infrastructure conglomerates involved in energy, highways and airport sectors. During his time as Chief Executive Officer of the GMR Group international business, it became a multinational infrastructure business with assets under management (excluding India) in excess of US$5 billion.
