Strategic Communications

May 11, 2015

Brand and reputation are most at risk in times of crisis or during sensitive events such as litigation or public hearings, regulatory investigations, or corporate disputes that can unfold in full view of the public eye. And when a crisis strikes at a Private Equity firm’s portfolio company, both entities can be put at great risk.

To help Private Equity firms better prepare themselves prior to a crisis taking place, Cara O’Brien (Senior Managing Director) presented to a group of HKVCA (Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association) members on “Protecting Brand and Reputation During a Crisis.” In addition to insight on how to most effectively handle communications should a crisis occur, Cara also shared with the audience a few case studies to provide guidance on how to communicate with various stakeholders, help maintain credibility, and minimise potential damage to reputation during times of crisis.
