FTI Consulting Expands its Forensic and Litigation Consulting Segment in Australia with the Appointment of Dawna Wright
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dawna Wright, who has joined the Forensic Accounting and Advisory Services practice of FTI Consulting as a Senior Managing Director. Based out of Melbourne, Ms. Wright will be introducing FTI Consulting’s leading service offerings in forensic accounting, financial investigations and dispute advisory to the Australian market.

In this role, Ms. Wright will lead the development of a pre-eminent national forensic team, which will work hand-in-hand with FTI Consulting’s market-leading business segments around the globe comprising Corporate Finance/Restructuring, Economic Consulting, Forensic and Litigation Consulting, Strategic Communications and Technology, in providing clients with extensive expertise, valuable global and local experience and unmatched breadth of specialisations. Drawing on the skills of this diverse team — which includes highly skilled forensic accountants, licensed investigators, computer forensics and data analysis specialists, valuation experts, economists and strategic communications specialists — FTI Consulting is able to offer a streamlined and comprehensive suite of services to help clients overcome complicated business issues in areas such as compliance, governance, investigations, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues, reputation management, risk and restructuring.
Utilising over 20 years of experience in audit and forensic accounting, Ms. Wright has led a wide range of matters as an independent expert witness, a consulting expert and an expert determiner. Her expertise includes pre-litigation dispute consulting, expert testimony, class action litigation, corporate investigations, financial statement restatements, post-acquisition disputes and anti-bribery and corruption reviews. Within this, she specialises in the interpretation of complex data and financial information for non-financial clients, particularly for lawyers and Boards of Directors.
Throughout her career, Ms. Wright has been able to work in a broad range of industry sectors, touching on all major Australian jurisdictions, including matters involving the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (“ASIC”), Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) and Australian Taxation Office (“ATO”). She has been involved in many high-profile and complex matters such as the Asahi post-acquisition dispute, Black Saturday bushfires class action, Timbercorp class action, Pan Pharmaceuticals recall/litigation and the Toll/Patrick dispute. Additionally, she has acted for many top-listed companies such as Amcor, Coles, Crown, Fosters, Telstra and Woolworths.
Ms. Wright has gained valuable global experience having worked in Canada, the United States, France and Australia. She is joining FTI Consulting from boutique advisory firm McGrathNicol, where she was a Forensic Partner for five years. Before this, she spent several years leading the Forensic practice of Deloitte in Victoria, Australia. Ms. Wright is a Certified Fraud Examiner (U.S.A.) and a Chartered Accountant in Canada and Australia (business valuation specialist).
