FTI Consulting and BNY Mellon Co-Host Capital Markets Roundtable Events in China

Strategic Communications

July 22, 2013

FTI Consulting has partnered with BNY Mellon’s Asian Depositary Receipt team to co-host a series of events on capital markets communications topics.

In April, events were held in Beijing and Shanghai and were geared specifically to Chinese companies listed in the U.S. The event theme and interactive discussions centred around the importance of elevating transparency and improving disclosure in order to make it a more effective financial communications tool.

Attendance was high, showing that a number of China-based publicly listed companies are dedicating more time to learning about communications best practices and to discussing ways to repair some of the reputational damage that exists for the group. The agenda included a joint presentation given by FTI Consulting and BNY Mellon followed by an open and robust dialogue with attendees.

Topics during the open discussion portion of the event included benchmarking disclosures versus peers, effectively managing investor expectations, learning how to be more open and transparent despite presumed cultural or market barriers, elevating and improving materials that are used in communications programmes, and ensuring that important questions and concerns are addressed before they are raised.

FTI Consulting has created a white paper that summarises the discussions at these events. For an English version, please click here and for a Chinese version, please click here.

Following the success of our China series, a similar event in Jakarta is now being organised for September. If you are interested in attending, please email us for more details.
